Diplomová práce mapuje možnosti vzdělávání tlumočníků mluvených a znakových jazyků v České republice a v Rakousku. V teoretické části práce je nastíněna situace neslyšících v České republice a v Rakousku a vysvětleny pojmy související s komunikací neslyšících. Dále je předložen stručný přehled historie vzdělávání tlumočníků mluvených a znakových jazyků a jsou popsány podmínky pro výkon tlumočnické profese v obou zemích. Největší prostor v teoretické části je věnován popisu jednotlivých vzdělávacích institucí pro tlumočníky mluvených i znakových jazyků, přičemž je největší důraz kladen na Ústav translatologie Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Karlovy v Praze a na Institut teoretické a aplikované translatologie na Filozofické fakultě Univerzity Karla Františka ve Štýrském Hradci. V empirické části jsou představeny výsledky dotazníkového šetření zaměřeného na studium tlumočnictví na Ústavu translatologie v Praze a na Institutu pro teoretickou a aplikovanou translatologii ve Štýrském Hradci. Magisterští studenti zde hodnotili, jak dobře je studium připravuje na budoucí povolání. The thesis focuses on possibilities of spoken and sign language interpreter training in the Czech Republic and Austria. The theoretical part describes the situation of the deaf in the Czech Republic and in Austria and explains the terms connected with communication of the deaf. Furthermore, it contains a brief overview of the history of spoken and sign language interpreter training and a description of the conditions for interpreters in both countries respectively. The most detailed chapters of the theoretical part deal with training institutions for spoken and sign language interpreters. The main focus is on the Institute of Translation studies at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague and the Department of Translation Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Graz. The empirical part presents the results of a questionnaire survey conducted among Master students of the two institutes who evaluated how well the university prepares them for their future career.
