1 Abstrakt Počet druhů, které jsou hodnoceny jako ohrožené, se každým rokem zvyšuje zejména z důvodu lidské činnosti. Jednou z možností záchrany těchto druhů je v současné době chov v zoologických zahradách světa. Zoologické zahrady fungují jako příslovečná Archa Noemova, v níž druhy mohou přečkat nepříznivé období, aby mohly být následně reintrodukovány. Množství druhů, které dostanou šanci na tuto Archu nastoupit, je ale omezené. Faktorů, které ovlivňují umístění konkrétního druhu do zoo, je více (např. jeho status dle IUCN, taxonomická jedinečnost, dostupnost apod.), ovšem v minulosti bylo zjištěno, že roli hraje zejména jeho velikost a atraktivita pro člověka. Jednotlivé skupiny zvířat jsou však z hlediska krásy hodnoceny na základě jiných pravidel, a proto je důležité tato pravidla odhalit a následně je aplikovat v ochranářských projektech. Tato práce se zabývá faktory, které ovlivňují lidské estetické preference vůči savcům, a to jak z hlediska charakteristik zvířat (jejich zbarvení a morfologie), tak i z hlediska člověka (jeho pohlaví, věku, vzdělání, bydliště). Bylo zjištěno, že na hodnocení krásy savců má největší vliv přítomnost vzoru na těla, a dále také saturace (sytost) zbarvení a celková světlost. Naopak negativněji je hodnocena tmavá barva. Z hlediska člověka má největší vliv na hodnocení... 1 Abstract Every year, the number of species considered as endangered increases, especially due to human activities. Nowadays, captive breeding in zoological gardens becomes an option for their survival in refugees. Zoological gardens function as so-called "Noah's Ark", which has the potential to shelter a large amount of individuals from many species. In the future, this opportunity may give us a chance to reintroduce a species that disappeared in the nature. There are many factors influencing which species will be selected to be kept in zoos, e.g., the IUCN status, taxonomical uniqueness, availability, etc., but it was found that especially the size of the animal and the human aesthetic preferences affect the selection. However, every group of animals is evaluated independently in the terms of beauty, and thus, it is necessary to detect these rules and then to apply them to conservation projects. This thesis examines the factors that influence human aesthetic preferences to mammals, both in terms of the characteristics of animals (their colour and morphology), and in terms of human factors (gender, age, education, residence).
