Diplomová práce se zabývá korespondencí mezi F. X. Šaldou a Růženou Svobodovou. Na základě rozsáhlé badatelské činnosti, jejímž cílem bylo seznámit se s korespondencí v celém jejím rozsahu, se pokouší podat obecnou charakteristiku této korespondence (rozsah, datace, problém jejího uveřejňování a zveřejňování, záměr ji literárně zužitkovat apod.) a porovnat korespondenci otištěnou ve výboru Tíživá samota, který je i přes svou značnou rozměrnost pouze zlomkem celku dochované korespondence, s dopisy do výboru nezařazenými. Analyzuje sebestylizace, event. stylizace adresáta v dopisech a z podnětu výjimečného charakteru dopisů obsažených ve výboru se zamýšlí nad otázkou, nakolik je dochovaná korespondence obrazem žité reality svých pisatelů a nakolik je literární fikcí. Based on extensive research of their entire correspondence, it tries to give general characteristic of letters (their extent, dating, the question of their publication, the intention for its literary utilization ect.) and compare all of the correspondence with publication Tížívá samota. Despite of the scope of the publication it includes only fragment of their conversations. The thesis analyses letters and their content of self- stylisation of the authors themselves, alternatively stylisation of the addressee, and out of the extraordinary nature of letters it polemizes to what extent is their correspondence reflection of lived out reality or a literary fiction.
