Disertační práce nazvaná Tarahuarský obraz světa je pokusem naznačit a případně objasnit vztah jazyka a kultury. Práce vychází z mytického uspořádání přirozeného světa Tarahumarů žijících v Severozápadní oblasti Mexika, z popisu a analýzy některých jazykových rysů a hledání těchto jazykových rysů v kultuře. Dlouhodobý zájem o Tarahumary mne vedly k několika otázkám: jaké je postavení mýtu v obrazu světa - je-li nějaké; jaký je vztah tarahumarštiny a tarahumarské kultury?; je možné vyústění dvou "složek" jedné kultury jako je jazykový a mytický systém v to, co antropologie přijímá jako obraz světa; zobrazuje mýtus a jazyk nějakým způsobem uspořádání jejich přirozeného světa, jejich myšlení; vypovídá mýtu o kulturním zrodu a jak, a i když je tato otázka složitá díky evropským kulturním vlivům, přesto se pokoušíme ptát po původu kultury, tarahumarské kultury v mýtu; jakou roli hraje mýtus a jakou jazyk v obrazu světa. V zásadě se stále ptám po vztazích jazyka, mýtu a kulturních rysů, jaká je míra dosahu vztahu jazyka a kultury: hrají důležitou úlohu, jsou marginální, ale do jisté míry existují, nebo nelze hovořit o komponování obrazu světa na základě vztahu jazykových a kulturních rysů, ba co více, nelze hovořit o obrazu světa vůbec. The work follows from the mytical arrangement of the Tarahumara natural world living in the Northwestern of Mexico from the description and analyses of some language elements and searching for its language features in the culture. The author puts a few questions: what is position of myth in the worldview - in case there is some?; what is the relation of the Tarahumara language and culture?; does exist any possibility to outcome of the relation of two parts of one culture as it is myth system and language system into thing what the anthropology consider as the worldview?, does myths and language could show in any way a setting of Tarahumara native world setting, their way of thinking?; does the myth shows the base for the cultural creation and how?; even if the question is dificult becouse of the European culture influences we are trying to ask for the origin of Tarahumara culture in the myth - what is the role of the myth and what is the role of the language in Tarahumara worldview.
