Tématem předložené disertační práce je Vznik, vývoj a fungování systému sociálního zabezpečení u společnosti Severní dráhy císaře Ferdinanda v období let 1836-1907. Těžiště výzkumu bylo zaměřeno na vznik a fungování penzijní pokladny, nemocenské pokladny z roku 1874, nemocenské pokladny z roku 1888 a dětského azylového domu železniční společnosti Severní dráhy císaře Ferdinanda. Pro výzkum bylo použito metody sběru a analýzy archivních pramenů, tištěných pramenů a literatury vztahující se k danému tématu a následného srovnání vzniku, vývoje a fungování systému sociálního zabezpečení u státních drah, státní správy, příslušníků ozbrojených sil habsburské monarchie, případně u ostatních soukromých železničních společností v období let 1836 až 1907. Výsledky výzkumu jsou následující; Severní dráha císaře Ferdinanda poskytovala prostřednictvím penzijní pokladny a nemocenské pokladny z roku 1874 a části svých zaměstnanců, jejich vdovám a sirotkům penzijní, nemocenské a částečně také úrazové zabezpečí. Po zřízení později nemocenské pokladny z roku 1888 se nemocenské pojištění rozšířilo na všechny zaměstnance. Tento záchytný systém se v průběhu let stal vzorem pro většinu soukromých železniční společnosti a c. k. Státní dráhy. A naopak Severní dráha si brala za vzor sociální zabezpečení státních úředníků,... The origin, development and working of the welfare system at the Company of the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway in the period 1836-1907 The objective of this thesis is The origin, development and working of the welfare system at the Company of the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway in the period 1836-1907. The research is focused on the origin and working of the Retirement Fund, the Sickness Fund from 1874, Sickness Fund from 1888 and the Childrens' shelter of the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway Company. The method of this research was the archival sources, printed sources and literature collection and analysis and then comparison the origin, development and working of Social Security systems at state railways, state administration, members of Habsburg monarchy armed forces and also at other private railway companies in the period of 1836 - 1907. The sources confirm that the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway provided some employees, their widows and orphans with comprehensive care of pension, sickness security and partly also accident insurance through its funds. The company also offered childrens' shelter service, that provided children and orphans with free of charge upbringing and education with the view to preparing them to work for the Northern Railway.
