Tato bakalářská práce se skládá z překladu části knihy Micheala Cronina Translation and Identity vydaného v roce 2006 a z komentáře k tomuto překladu. Komentář zahrnuje překladatelskou analýzu originálního textu, překladatelské problémy s příklady řešení a typologii překladatelských posunů. Překladatelská analýza byla vytvořena podle modelu Ch. Nordové a stanovení překladatelské metody vycházelo z teorie J. Levého a částečně také z P. Newmarka. Typologie překladatelských posunů se řídí teorií A. Popoviče. Překládaný text se zabývá provázaností moderní a neustále se proměňující společnosti. Z pohledu několika kosmopolitních teorií nahlíží na chápání pojmu kosmopolitismus v průběhu dějin a sleduje, jaký vliv má toto chápání na jednání lidí. Uvádí do souvislosti pojmy kosmopolitismus, identita a překlad a zdůrazňuje úlohu překladu jako nezastupitelného "mostu", který zprostředkovává vztahy globálního světa a ovlivňuje pojímání jedince i skupiny, ať už se toto pojímání realizuje na úrovni etnika, národa nebo nadnárodního společenství. V návaznosti na to zkoumá zařazení jedince i skupiny do složité světové společnosti a s tím spojené rozdíly v chápání kulturních, politických, ekonomických či technologických proměn. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org) This bachelor thesis comprises a translation of a part of a book called Translation and Identity by Michael Cronin, published in 2006 and a commentary on the translation. The commentary includes translation analysis of the original text, examples of translation problems with solutions and typology of translation shifts. The analysis was based on the model of Ch. Nord and the translation method was inspired by translation theory of J. Levý and partly also by the theory of P. Newmark. The translation shifts were based on the theory of A. Popovič. The translated text inquires into the interconnection of the modern and constantly changing society. It looks at the understanding of the concept of cosmopolitanism throughout the history from the point of view of several cosmopolitan theories and it studies the influence the understanding has on people's behaviour. It puts into context concepts of cosmopolitanism, identity and translation and it highlights the role of translation as an irreplaceable "bridge" which mediates relationship of the global world and influences how we see individuals and groups whether it is on the level of ethnic, national or an international society.
