Práce se zabývá vývojem a historií Haštalské čtvrti Starého Města pražského. Časové mapování zejména dvacátého století odpovídá nejzásadnějšímu období proměn tohoto místa, přesto se však v jeho posuzování opírá i o období historická a to hlavně o dobu rozkvětu kláštera svaté Anežky a s ním spojeným rozvojem čtvrti. Důraz ve dvacátém století je poté kladen především na dobu asanace, jejíž průběh a zvraty se pokouší zmapovat a zhodnotit nejen z pohledu městského urbanismu, ale i denního života, ve kterém se opírá o literární svědectví Gézy Včeličky a snaží se na základě provedeného historického mapování kriticky nahlédnout i současné fungování čtvrti. This article examines the development and history of the Haštal quarter in the Old Town of Prague. It predominantly addresses the twentieth century, which saw the greatest changes in the area, but earlier periods are also brought into consideration, especially the flourishing of the Monastery of St. Agnes and the related development of the Haštalská quarter. Within the twentieth century, the article focuses on the period of ghetto clearance. This period is examined not only within the framework of urbanism but also from the viewpoint of everyday life. In the latter aspect I relied upon the literary account by Géza Včelička. The historical background then serves as the basis of a critical reflection of the current state of the quarter.
