Bakalářská práce Společnost na Hlučínsku mezi dvěma světovými válkami / Formování národní identity na příkladu školství zpracovává téma boje o národní identitu tohoto specifického kraje s výrazně odlišnou historií, než jaká potkala ostatní části nově vzniklé Československé republiky. Pokouší se nastínit vývoj česko-německých národnostních střetů v letech 1920-1938 a ukazuje, že tyto střety spíše než skutečný zájem místního obyvatelstva upřednosťňovaly národnostní a strategické zájmy vlastní. Z obecnějšího perspektivy specifické situace Hlučínska v ekonomické, politické a náboženské oblasti vyzdvihuje jako dominantní pole střetu školství a s ním spojené usilování o jazykovou hegemonii. Nastiňuje podmínky a souvislosti, které měly zásadní vliv na formování národní identity hlučínského regionu. The bachelor thesis Society in the Hlučín region between the two World Wars / National identity forming exemplified by the educational system deals with the theme of national identity of this specific region whose history was very different from that of the rest of the newly formed Czechoslovak Republic. It attempts to illustrate the development of local ethno- national tensions from 1920 to 1938 while demonstrating that these conflicts were driven more by general national and strategic interests than on real interests of the local population. From the broader perspective of the specific situation of the Hlučín region in the economic, political and religious sphere the thesis highlights the educational system as a key area of conflict, linked to the efforts to achieve linguistic hegemony. It describes the conditions and context that exercised a profound influence on national identity forming in the Hlučín region.
