Práce se zabývá životními osudy a kariérou českého pozdně středověkého diplomata Prokopa z Rabštejna (kolem 1410 - asi 1470), staršího bratra známého humanisty Jana z Rabštejna. Těžištěm práce je především sledování Prokopovy činnosti v poděbradské éře, kdy postupně působil ve službách římského císaře Fridricha III., českého a uherského krále Ladislava Pohrobka a voleného českého krále Jiřího z Poděbrad, přiměřená pozornost je však věnována i Prokopovu původu či jeho činnosti v kanceláři římskoněmeckých panovníků Zikmunda Lucemburského a Albrechta II. Habsburského. Působení Prokopa z Rabštejna přitom je náležitě zasazeno do širšího kontextu středoevropských dějin v pozdním středověku a opomenuty nezůstaly ani aspekty kulturní (recepce humanismu v českém prostředí poděbradské doby). Práce využívá autentických dobových pramenů jak diplomatického původu (zvláště Prokopovy korespondence), tak narativních a rovněž kriticky reflektuje starší literaturu věnující se danému tématu či se jej alespoň dotýkající. The thesis discusses the life and career of the late-medieval Czech diplomat Prokop of Rabštejn (about 1410 - probably 1470), an older brother of the renowned humanist Jan of Rabštejn. The main part of the thesis follows Prokop's activities during the Poděbrad era in which he successively served under Holy Roman Emperor Frederick III, King of Bohemia and Hungary Ladislaus the Posthumous and the elected Bohemian King George of Poděbrady, but also pays attention to Prokop's background and his work in the office of the German rulers Sigismund of Luxemburg and Albert II Habsburg. The activities of Prokop of Rabštejn are discussed in the wider context of Central European history in the Late Middle Ages and with regard to specific cultural aspects of that time (reception of humanism in the Bohemian environment of the Poděbrad era). The thesis draws from authentic period documents both of a diplomatic (in particular Prokop's correspondence) and narrative character, and critically examines older literature focusing on or related to the topic.
