v českém jazyce Práce si klade za cíl stanovit základní charakteristiku motivu města a jeho variování ve vybraných dílech Bohumila Hrabala. Oblastí výzkumu jsou některé prózy povídkových souborů Perlička na dně, Inzerát na dům, ve kterém už nechci bydlet a novely Něžný barbar a Příliš hlučná samota. Teoretický podklad práce tvoří publikace zabývající se obecně prostorem v literárních dílech či konkrétně motivem města. Práce se zaměřuje pouze na rozbor textů, jejichž děj se zasazen do prostředí velkoměsta (konkrétně Prahy), stranou pak ponechává ty texty, jejichž dějištěm je menší město (Nymburk, popřípadě Lysá nad Labem). Prózy jsou rozebrány postupně podle data svého prvního vydání, v rámci povídkových souborů pak podle pořadí v povídkovém souboru. Nejprve dochází k detailní analýze konkrétních podob motivu města v jednotlivých dílech, na jejímž základě jsou posléze stanoveny společné prvky těchto podob, a tím i celková charakteristika motivu města v díle Bohumila Hrabala. in English The work aims to determine the basic characteristic of the motive of the city and its variation in selected works by Bohumil Hrabal. Research areas are some proses from short story collection Pearls of the Deep, An Advertisement for the House I Don't Want to Live in Anymore and novels Gentle Barbarian and Too Loud a Solitude. Theoretical basis of this thesis consists of publications dealing in general with space in literary works or specifically with the motive of the city. The thesis focuses only on the analysis of texts whose events are located in a metropolitan environment (specifically Prague). Those texts whose events is a smaller town (Nymburk, or Lysa nad Labem) are left aside. Proses are analyzed by date of the first edition and the short stories in their respective order in the short story collection. First, there is a detailed analysis of specific forms of the motive of the city in particular works. On the basis of this analysis the common elements of these forms are eventually determined, and thus the complete characteristic of the motive of the city in the work of Bohumil Hrabal.
