Saský granulitový masiv, ležící v saxothuringhiku v Českém masivu, je tvořen tělesem felsických a místy mafických granulitů, formovaných během variské orogeneze. Granulity metamorfovaly při tlacích P ~ 2.3 GPa a teplotách T = 970-1060 řC (Fuhrman a Lindsley, 1988; Rötzler a Romer, 2001). Byly exhumovány ve velmi krátkém čase a vmístěny do paleozoických sedimentů, což vedlo k jejich kontaktní metamorfóze a vzniku kontaktní aureoly. Granulitové těleso má oválný tvar, protáhlý severovýchod-jihozápadním směrem a je obklopeno metamorfním obalem (tzv. schist mantle). V průběhu dvou kilometrů směrem od kontaktu s granulitovým tělesem klesá v obalu stupeň metamorfózy od kordieritových rul, přes svory s andaluzitem až k fylitům. Detailní strukturní analýza zaznamenává deformační vývoj spjatý se čtyřmi fázemi. Starší stavby v granulitech mají strmé SV-JZ orientované trendy a obsahují kyanit a silimanit. Jsou lokálně, především podél okraje granulitového tělesa, přetištěny subhorizontálními stavbami charakteru facie zelených břidlic. V metasedimentech lze místy pozorovat původní sedimentární zvrstvení. V okolí kontaktu s granulitovým tělesem mají horniny obalu subvertikální stavby, které jsou přerůstány kontaktně metamorfovanými minerály nebo je obsahují. Původní stavby SV-JZ průběhu jsou izoklinálně vrásněny... The Saxonian Granulite Massif in the Saxothuringian Domain of the Bohemian Massif, is represented by a single granulite body consisting of felsic and mafic granulites formed during Variscan tectono-metamorphic event. The granulites with peak metamorphic P-T conditions of ~2.3 GPa and 970-1060 řC (Fuhrman and Lindsley, 1988; Rötzler and Romer, 2001) were exhumed and emplaced into the palaeozic sedimentary cover sequence, which resulted into contact metamorphism affecting these metasedimentary rocks and development of a contact metamorphic aureole. In the map view, the granulite body has elongated shape with the long axis oriented in NE- SW direction and it is surrounded by the so called schist mantle reflecting the extent of the contact metamorphic aureole. Within two kilometers distance away from the contact with granulite body, the metamorphic grade in metasediments decreases from cordierite gneiss, andalusite bearing micaschist to phyllite. Detailed field structural analysis in the studied area revealed a deformation record associated with four main deformation phases. In granulites the oldest deformation fabric contains kyanite and sillimanite.
