Práce se zabývá vývojem obce a později i města Neratovice v 19. a 20. století, především s ohledem na vznik a rozvoj chemického průmyslu. V úvodu stručně seznamuje se všemi městskými částmi a upozorňuje na zajímavou historii Lobkovic, které byly až do 80. let 19. století významnější než Neratovice. Poté práce dále chronologicky přibližuje život v Neratovicích nejprve do konce 19. století a následně detailněji rozpracovává období obou světových válek. Další část se již naplno věnuje rozmachu chemie, zejména událostem kolem Spolany, nejznámější zdejší továrny, jejíž existence nepochybně ovlivnila a zcela změnila tvář města. Na několika místech pak práce také vypráví o místních historických památkách a kulturních osobnostech, které jsou s Neratovicemi spojené. Klíčová slova: Neratovice, Spolana, chemický průmysl, Lobkovice, Palacký, Plesinger-Božinov, válka, socialismus The thesis deals with the development of a village later a town called Neratovice in 19th and 20th century, especially with regard to the formation of the chemical industry. The introduction briefly presents the parts of the town and also points out an interesting history of Lobkovice, the part which was up to the 80s of the 19th century more important than Neratovice. After that, the work continues chronologically in a description of life in Neratovice, at first to the end of 19th century and then it elaborates on the period of the two world wars. The next part is fully focused on the expansion of chemistry, in particular it discusses events based in Spolana, the well-known local plant whose existence has undoubtedly influenced and completely changed the image of the town. The paper also includes information about historical monuments and famous personalities that are connected with the town.
