Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat, jak vybrané celostátní deníky a televize informují veřejnost o vzdělávání a školství. Kvantitativní obsahové analýze byly podrobeny čtyři celostátní deníky, konkrétně MF Dnes, deník Právo, Hospodářské noviny a Lidové noviny. Dále čtyři televizní stanice, ČT1, ČT2, ČT24 a televize Nova. Celý výzkum se soustředí na výstupy z roku 2012. V první řadě bylo třeba popsat různé pohledy na definice vzdělávání. Kromě definic pedagogického zaměření, slovníkových definic, historického a ideologického rázu, bylo nastíněno, jak se na vzdělávání dívají vybraní názoroví vůdci. Poté následuje pohled do historie a současnosti českého školství. Výsledky kvantitativní obsahové analýzy potvrdily hypotézu, která předpokládala, že mediální pokrytí školství a vzdělávání není dostačující. Média se zabývají administrativou, činnostmi ministerstva školství a dalšími dílčími tématy, které nemají co dočinění s tím, co se žáci učí ve škole v rámci jednotlivých předmětů. Výsledky této analýzy byly porovnány s očekáváním zástupců cílové skupiny - rodičů. Proběhlo dotazníkové šetření a série polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, ze kterých vyplynulo, že rodiče téma vzdělávání v médiích zajímá, ale nemají dostatek informací nebo nikdy nepřemýšleli o kvalitě a dostatečnosti referování médií. The aim of this thesis is to analyze how selected national newspapers and television inform the public about education and schooling. Four national newspapers, namely MF Dnes, Deník Právo, Hospodářské noviny and Lidové noviny, as well as four television stations: CT1, CT2, CT24 and TV Nova, were subjected to a quantitative content analysis. The whole research focused on outcomes of 2012. Firstly, it was necessary to describe different views of the definition of education. In addition to the definition of pedagogical focus, dictionary definitions, definitions of historical and ideological nature, we outlined how education is being perceived by selected opinion leaders, followed by an insight into the history and present state of the Czech education system. The results of the quantitative analysis confirmed the hypothesis assuming that media coverage of education and schooling is not sufficient. The media mainly deal with administration, activities of the Ministry of Education and other sub-themes that have nothing to do with what students learn in school within individual subjects.
