Práce se snaží postihnout význam lexému nos v kognitivně-lingvistické perspektivě, a to zejm. prostřednictvím kolokací a frazémů, které se k lexému nos vztahují. Cílem práce je definovat tzv. významové profily pojmu NOS a zformulovat kognitivně kulturní definici nosu vyplývající z jeho místa v českém jazykovém obrazu světa. Za tímto účelem bude nos nejprve podroben analýze ze dvou různých perspektiv - z perspektivy lékařské, reprezentující vědecký pohled na svět, a z perspektivy běžného uživatele jazyka, reprezentující tzv. naivní obraz světa. Údaje vztahující se k lexému nos budou excerpovány z českých výkladových, synonymických, etymologických a frazeologických slovníků, bude provedena sémická analýza a lexém nos bude začleněn do systémových vztahů v české slovní zásobě. Nos bude představen také ve světle doplňujících perspektiv alternativní medicíny a pseudovědeckých disciplín frenologie a fyziologie, jejichž poznatky hrají určitou roli v utváření naivního obrazu nosu. Součástí práce je také anketní výzkum, který zjišťuje, jaké asociace si s pojmem NOS spojuje běžný uživatel českého jazyka. V závěru práce jsou představeny čtyři významové profily pojmu NOS: 1) vzhled nosu, 2) umístění nosu: nos jako měřítko prostorové blízkosti, 3) funkce nosu: nos jako orgán čichu a cítění + sekundárně orgán řeči, 4)... The thesis tries to grasp the meaning of lexeme nos "the nose" in cognitively-linguistic perspective, namely in particular through colocation and idioms, which contains the lexeme nos. The goal of this thesis is to define so-called semantic profiles of concept NOSE and to formulate cognitively cultural definition of nose consequential from its location in the Czech linguistic picture of the world. For this purpose nose first will be subjected to analysis from two different perspectives - from medical perspective, which represent the scientific view on the world, and from the perspective of a common user of the language, which represent so- called naive picture of the world. Data relating to the lexeme nos will be excerpted from Czech monolingual, synonymous, etymological and phraseological dictionaries, the semic analysis will be done and the lexeme nos will be included to systemic relationships in Czech vocabulary. Nose also will be introduced in a ligth of an additional perspectives of an alternative medicine and a pseudoscientific disciplines: the phrenology and the physiognomy. Their knowledges play some role in a formation of a naive picture of a nose. The questionnaire research is too a part of the thesis.
