Diplomová práce Záhřeb v chorvatské urbánní próze na přelomu 20. a 21. století se zabývá rolí chorvatského hlavního města a jeho vlivem na ústřední postavy vybraných děl uvedených autorů. Časové období přelomu století bylo zvoleno záměrně z důvodu probíhajícího rozpadu Jugoslávie, následného válečného konfliktu na Balkánu a poválečného hledání jistot. Tyto faktory zapříčinily migraci většího množství osob mj. i do oblasti Záhřebu zvané Nový Záhřeb, která je důležitým urbánním prvkem chorvatské metropole, a proto i diplomové práce. Bouřlivé události a nejisté životní podmínky z konce minulého a počátku tohoto století znamenaly pro některé obyvatele změnu životního stylu a ustáleného řádu, jejichž průběh se prostřednictvím hlavních aktérů zvolených děl pokusí práce objasnit. Resumé Diploma thesis Zagreb in Croatian urban prose at the turn of 20th and 21st century deals with roles and influence of the Croatian capital on main characters of selected works of mentioned authors. The turn of the century was chosen deliberately, due to the disintegration of Yugoslavia, subsequent war conflict in Balkan and postwar search for certainties. These factors led to migration of a huge amount of people, e.g. into the area of New Zagreb which is an important urban feature of Croatian metropolis and therefore of this thesis. This thesis will try to clarify through the main characters of selected works the turbulent events and uncertain life circumstances from the end of the previous century and from the beginning of the new one which meant for some people a change of their lifestyle and stabilized order.
