Práce se zabývá nejprve charakteristikou klasické francouzské tragédie 17. století a soudobé dramatické tvorby. Nastiňuje historický vývoj vedoucí k formování specifických rysů a pravidel charakteristických pro francouzský divadelní klasicismus. Výskyt a užití těchto prvků je následně potvrzen rozborem vybraných děl J. Racina, který je hlavním představitelem klasické francouzské tragédie. V práci je demonstrováno, jak se při uplatnění estetických předpisů otevírá prostor pro básnickou originalitu Racina, mj. prostřednictvím konfrontace odlišných pojetí tragického konfliktu a tragické postavy u tohoto autora a jeho generačního předchůdce Pierre Corneille. Following brief description of historical development and connotations explains the formation of French classical dramatic norms and rules. Their appearance and assertion is consequently confirmed in an analysis of selected works of Jean Racine, major representative of French Classical Tragedy.
