Rigorózní práce se zabývá rozborem a analýzou příčin školní neúspěšnosti romských žáků na základní škole. V empirickém šetření je práce zaměřena na znalost či neznalost mateřského jazyka - romštiny a její případný vliv na počáteční školní neúspěchy romských žáků. Dále řeší problematiku soužití romské komunity a majoritní společnosti a v neposlední řadě míru užívání romského jazyka a jeho vývoj či úpadek do budoucna. Získané závěry vyplývají z výsledků dotazníkového šetření na vzorku romské komunity ve sledovaném regionu. Podstatná část práce je zaměřena na připravenost, školní zralost a jazykovou vybavenost romských žáků na počátku školní docházky a zdůrazňuje nutnost pochopení, porozumění a přijetí romského dítěte českým pedagogem tak, aby se bylo schopno vzdělávat v hlavním vzdělávacím proudu s ostatními žáky. The rigorous work deals with the reasons leading to primary school failures of Romany children. The empirical research focuses on the knowledge or the lack of knowledge of the native language - the Romany language and its potential influence at the initial lack of success of the Romany pupils. Further it deals with the issues of coexistence of the Romany community with the majority society and last but not least the extent to which the Romany language is being used and its future development or decline. A substantial part of the work focuses on the readiness, the school maturity and language equipment of the Romany pupils at the beginning of their school attendance and highlights the necessity of understanding, comprehension and acceptance of the Romany child by the Czech teacher so that he is able to follow his education as a part of the main educational stream together with other pupils.
