Tato práce se zabývá Janem Nerudou a jeho dílem z jiného pohledu než učebnicového. Hlavním cílem bylo poukázat na fakt, že Neruda byl na svou dobu odvážným, až rebelujícím spisovatelem, a ve svém díle bořil dobové prudérní literární konvence. První kapitola představuje 19. století a poukazuje na tehdejší postavení ženy, ale také na situace, které tamější společnost chápala jako tabu. Druhá kapitola je Nerudovým životopisem se zaměřením na životní momenty spjaté s jeho tvorbou. Třetí kapitola je interpretací Nerudova programového prohlášení "Škodlivé směry". Předposlední kapitola zahrnuje ukázky z děl, jež obsahují erotické a sexuální motivy či jinak tabuizovaná témata, jakými jsou prostituce a nevěra. V poslední části této bakalářské práce jsme se věnovali povídce "U tří lilií", která svým sexuálním motivem vzbuzovala a stále vzbuzuje pozornost u literátů i čtenářů. Klíčová slova Jan Neruda, 19. století, tabu, sex a erotika v literatuře My thesis deals with Jan Neruda and his work from the different point of view than the view in school text books. I pointed out a fact that Neruda was a fearless, rather a rebellious writer in his period, and he had been breaking prudish literary stereotypes at that time. The first chapter presents the 19th century itself and refers to the recent status of a woman but also to some situations which were placed under a taboo by local society. The second chapter is Nerudaˈs biography focused on some life moments linked with his work. The third chapter shows my interpretation of Nerudaˈs programme statement ˈŠkodlivé směryˈ. The next chapter involves extracts of his works, which contains erotic, sexual motives or other taboo themes such as prostitution and infidelity. I put my mind to the tale ˈU tří liliíˈ, which invited and still invites readersˈ and literatesˈ attention, in the last part. Key words Jan Neruda, 19th century, taboo, sex and erotic in literature
