Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou ošetřování periferních žilních katétrů. Teoretická část práce je věnována základním pojmům, jako je ošetřovatelská péče, periferní žilní katétr a komplikace s ním spojené. Velká pozornost v této práci je soustředěna na ošetřovatelskou péči před zavedením, při aplikaci katétru a po jeho zavedení. Práce nás dále seznámí s komplikacemi katétrových sepsí, které jsou následkem nozokomiálních infekcí. V praktické části byla použita kvantitativní metoda formou anonymních dotazníků a skryté pozorování. Šetření bylo provedeno v Ústřední vojenské nemocnici - Vojenské fakultní nemocnici v Praze na různých odděleních intenzivní péče. Ze získaných dat bylo zjištěno, že 50,00 % respondentů používá při převazu periferního žilního katétru ke krytí netkanou textilii a 50,00 % respondentů používá fólii. Dále se zjistilo, že při zavádění periferního žilního katétru používá rukavice 88,10 % a při jeho převazu 82,14 % respondentů. The bachelor thesis deals with the treatment of peripheral venous catheters. The theoretical part is devoted to basic terms such as nursing care, peripheral venous catheter and complications associated with it. A lot of attention in this thesis is focused on nursing care prior to, during and after the application of the catheter. Furthermore, the thesis introduces us to complications of catheter sepsis resulting from nosocomial infections. In the practical part the quantitative method was used in the form of anonymous questionnaires and hidden observations. The survey was conducted at the Military University Hospital Prague at different intensive care units. The obtained results show that 50,00 % of the respondents use non-woven fabric for re-bandaging the peripheral venous catheter and 50,00 % of the respondents use a foil. Furthermore, it was found that 88,10 % of the respondents use gloves by the application of peripheral venous catheter and 82,14 % by re-bandaging.
