Tato práce zjišťuje míru informovanosti veřejnosti pohybující se v Městské nemocnici v Litoměřicích o problematice epilepsie. Zjištěné výsledky šetření byly využity jako základ pro vytvoření edukačního nástroje, který byl začleněn do formálního systému edukace v Městské nemocnici v Litoměřicích a měl by zvýšit povědomí veřejnosti o poskytování první pomoci u epileptického záchvatu. Praktická část práce je podložena teoretickými poznatky, podle kterých byla vytvořena hlavní hypotéza práce, a byl sestaven dotazník pro zjištění míry informovanosti. Dotazník zjišťuje informovanost laické veřejnosti o obecných znalostech týkajících se epilepsie, především o poskytnutí první pomoci a předsudcích vůči epileptikům. Výsledky z dotazníkového šetření jsou doplněny o rozhovory s vybranými respondenty, tyto doplňující informace slouží pro potvrzení hypotézy a lepší pochopení dané problematiky. Výsledky praktické části jsou využity pro vytvoření již zmíněného edukačního materiálu - edukačního letáku. Klíčová slova: Edukace, informovanost, epilepsie, první pomoc, předsudky This thesis researches the extent of awareness about epilepsy issue in select group of general public in City hospital Litoměřice. The results of my research were used as a basis for creation of educational tool, which was included in formal system of education in City hospital Litoměřice. Its desired effect is to raise awareness of general public about giving first aid during epileptic seizure. The practical part of my thesis is based on theoretical knowledge, which was used to formulate the main hypothesis of this thesis and creation of questionnaire that evaluates the extent of public awareness about epilepsy. Mainly about giving first aid during epileptic seizure and about prejudices towards epileptics. The results of the questionnaire research and interviews with selected respondents are used as basis for confirmation of my hypothesis and better understanding of this issue. Results of the practical part are used for creation of the already mentioned educational tool - educational leaflet. Key words: Education, awareness, epilepsy, first aid, prejudices
