Cílem této práce je nastínění problematiky válců čtyřdobých spalovacích motorů z pohledu historického a současného řešení. Jsou zde uvedeny požadované vlastnosti válců, materiály určené pro výrobu válců a jejich konstrukční řešení s uvedením jednotlivých aplikací. The aim of this work is to outline the issue of cylinders of four-stroke combustion engines from the point of view of historical and current solution. There are mentioned the required properties of the cylinders, the materials for the manufacture and their design solutions with individual applications.
