Předkládaná disertační práce je strukturována jako soubor publikací, který je doplněn o úvodní souhrn. Práce má tedy dvě části. První obsahuje teoreticko-metodologický kontext výzkumu daného tématu, do něhož je zasazena diskuse v návaznosti na námi zkoumanou problematiku. Druhou část tvoří samotný výběr a představení sedmi publikovaných či do tisku přijatých článků a kapitol v knihách. Předmětem jak teoretického zájmu v souhrnné části, tak samotných publikací jsou migranti, kteří se věnují podnikání a jejich podnikatelské strategie. Specifická pozornost je věnována chování migrantů v prostoru, přesněji jejich ekonomické koncentraci V úvodním souhrnu disertační práce jsou představeny tři teoreticko-metodologické přístupy k výzkumu podnikání migrantů ve světě od 70. let minulého století do současnosti (kulturní, strukturální a individuální). Následuje charakterizace využití těchto přístupů v námi realizovaných výzkumech v Česku. Cílem souhrnné části této práce je se zamyslet nad otázkou, zda je možné/vhodné aplikovat přístupy a z nich vycházející teorie a koncepty v námi studovaném tématu z jiného a do značné míry odlišného prostředí, především USA a Západní Evropy. A když ano, tak s jakými výsledky a problémy. Ve vybraných článcích a kapitolách v knihách jsme využili všech tří představených... Presented dissertation is compilation of seven articles complemented by introductory summary. First part of the dissertation contains the theoretical and methodological summary of the research topic, which include our theoretical discussion resulting from our concrete research. In the second part is presented selection of our articles, which were published or accepted to the press. The topic of the dissertation are migrants, who set up their business and their business activities. Specific attention is paid to migrants economic activities in space, concretely the types of economic concentration. The summary part of the dissertation introduces three theoretical and methodological approaches to the research to this topic, which have been in the research interest since the 70s till now. They were cultural, structural and individual approaches. The aim of this summary is linking these approaches with our research and answering the question, whether it is possible to use these approaches and theories and models resulted from these three approaches in the environment of the Czech Republic. If yes than the question is with what problems and results. In our research published in articles we have used all three theoretical and methodological approaches.
