Tématem práce jsou motivy města, poutníka a pouti v meziválečném románu Hærværk dánského spisovatele Toma Kristensena. Úvodní, teoretická část stručně charakterizuje změny v podobě města a jeho obrazů v literární teorii a dílech 19. a 20. století. Zároveň poukazuje na reciproční povahu vztahu člověka a města a na důležitou roli města při utváření identity jeho obyvatel. Následující analytická část práce obsahuje vlastní rozbor románu a zaměřuje se na způsob, jakým se pocit odcizení hlavní postavy projevuje na deskriptivním obrazu románového města. Práce zkoumá chybějící opory v životě hlavní postavy, a to prostřednictvím městských budov a staveb, které je zastupují, a které jsou v románu kritizovány či zcela vynechány. Dalším zkoumaným motivem je dobrovolná cesta hlavní postavy ke dnu, interpretovaná jako důsledek meziválečných pochyb o společnosti, jejích principech a obecně lidských hodnotách. Práce uvádí příklady různých typů odcizených městských chodců, s nimiž hlavní postavu porovnává. Rovněž analyzuje pohyb protagonisty městem, který na základě jeho nejvýraznějších směrů, vertikály a spirály, vykládá jako introspektivní cestu za hlubším poznáním vlastní podstaty. Poslední část práce se zabývá formálními aspekty románu a románového obrazu města, které rozebírá s ohledem na vybrané literární... The thesis presents an analysis of the themes of the city, the journey and the pilgrim in the well known danish novel Havoc by Tom Kristiensen. The introductory part of the thesis includes a brief summary of the changes in the image of the city in the 19th and 20th century works of art and literature. Furthermore, it also focuses on the man-city relationship and stresses its reciprocity and the important role of the city in the process of the formation of individual identity. The following part of the thesis analyses the theme of the city in Havoc and focuses mainly on the influence, which the main character's feeling of alientation has on the depiction of the city in the novel. Another discussed topic is the main character's decision to intentedly reach the bottom of his existence, which is interpreted as the result of the post-world war I. urge to question and reassess the foundations of the society and its principels and values. The thesis compares and contrasts the main character's deroute with other famous litterary journeys and pilgrimages. Furthemore, it also analyses the predominant patterns of the main charcter's movement through the city and interprets its spiral course as emblematic of the main charatcer's search of identity.
