Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá americko-ruskou spoluprací v severopacifické oblasti po rozpadu Sovětského svazu. Tichomořské oblasti obou států, ruský Dálný východ a západní pobřeží Spojených států si jsou svojí geografickou polohou, vzdáleností od politického centra, historicky, kulturně, ale i hospodářsky velmi blízké. Ruský dálný východ disponuje zásobami nerostných surovin, Spojené státy potřebným kapitálem a technologiemi na jeho rozvoj. Na rozdíl od atlantického rozměru vzájemných vztahů, mají v asijsko-pacifickém regionu podobné zájmy v bezpečnostních otázkách. Jejich spolupráce v této oblasti tak skýtá ohromný potenciál i řadu nástrah. Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá možnosti, vývoj a směřování jejich spolupráce na pozadí americko-ruských vztahů v posledních dvaceti letech. Zaměřuje se na bezpečnostní, ekologické a ekonomické aspekty vzájemné spolupráce na vládní a regionální úrovni. Důraz je kladen především na roli Spojených států a jejich přístup k Ruské federaci v oblasti severního Tichomoří, proto se věnuje zejména americkým programům, institucím a firmám snažícím se o spolupráci s Ruskem v severopacifické oblasti. Práce dochází k závěru, že spolupráce v oblasti, především na regionální úrovni, existuje, avšak její potenciál je stále z velké míry nevyužit. The topic of this Bachelor thesis is the American-Russian cooperation in the Northern Pacific area after the disintegration of the Soviet Union. The Pacific areas of both countries, Russian Far East and the west coast of the United States, are close to each other when it comes to geographic location, distance from the political center, history, culture and economy. Russian Far East has at its disposal non-renewable resources, the United States have the necessary capital and technologies for its development. As opposed to the Atlantic dimension of their mutual relations, in the Asian-Pacific region they have similar interests in the qustions of security. Their cooperation in this area thus offers both great potential and a number of pitfalls. This BA thesis analyses the possibilities, development and tendencies of their cooperation, at the background of the American_russian relations of the last twenty years. It focuses on security, ecological and economic aspects of mutual cooperation on both the governmental and regional level. The emphasis is put especially on the role of the United States and on their attitude toward the Russian federation in the North Pacific region.
