Bakalářská práce se zabývá přípravou České republiky na vstup do Organizace Severoatlantické smlouvy s důrazem na roky 1993-1999, a to zejména z hledisek zahraničněpolitických, vnitropolitických a z pohledu vnější bezpečnosti státu. Studie si klade za cíl přiblížit důvody snahy České republiky stát se členem NATO a nastínit podmínky, které musela splnit v souvislosti s přípravou svého vstupu do Aliance ve zmíněném období. Zmiňuje události, které přístupový proces ovlivnily, a rozpory, které se v rámci procesu přistoupení objevily, a snaží se je pojmenovat. Současně práce předkládá nástin mezinárodně politických vztahů ve druhé polovině 20. století, které jsou základem pro pochopení snahy České republiky stát se plnohodnotným členem NATO. Autor pokládá dvě otázky. "Které události zásadně ovlivnily přípravu a vstup České republiky do NATO?" a "Jaké postoje a rozpory se vstupem související se objevily v oblasti zahraniční politiky a vnější bezpečnosti státu v rámci ČR během tohoto procesu?" Práce by měla poskytnout odpovědi jak na základě teoretických zdrojů, tak na základě osobních výpovědí přímých účastníků procesu přistoupení, které autor oslovil. This thesis deals with the preparation of the Czech Republic to enter the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO, the Alliance) with an emphasis on the years 1993 - 1999, especially in terms of foreign policy, domestic policy and external security. The study aims to describe the effort of the Czech Republic to join NATO and outline the conditions that had to be met during the preparation for the accession to the Alliance. Also, the study looks for contradictions that appeared during the process and tries to identify them. At the same time, it presents an outline of international relations in the second half of the 20th century which are fundamental to understanding the effort of the Czech Republic to become a full member of NATO. The questions that the author asks are: "What events significantly affected the preparation of the Czech Republic to enter NATO" and "What stances and differences in foreign policy and domestic policy in the Czech Republic accompanied the process?" This work should provide answers on the basis of theoretical knowledge and personal testimonies of direct participants in the accession process whom the author addressed.
