Pro tlumení vibrací inženýrských konstrukcí se velmi často používají pasivní tlumiče. Nedostatky konvenčních pasivních tlumičů kyvadlového typu se dají vyloučit použitím tlumiče kulového typu. Wind excited vibrations of slender structures can be reduced using assive vibration absorbers. If there is available only a limited vrtical space to install such a device, a spherical type of absorber can be recommended.
