Abstract: A squeeze-film lubrication model of the human ankle joint with the fluid transport across the articular surface is presen ted. The intact articular superficial zone is considered as an inextendible permeable membrane and for this case the synovial fluid film maintains for long compared to the case with super ficial zone worn out (early osteoarthritis).
