Abstract: This work deals with the role of the women in Ancient Rome during the Emperor Augustus' reign. It describes the most important changes in their life styles that happened after the civil wars. The most significant change was connected with the position of women in the Imperial family. The work presents a new phenomena of that time - the foundation of the Imeprial court using the Augustus' wife and sister biographies.
