It refers to brief develophent froh ancienit times up to the prezent in the profession of midwives or nurses.Emphasis is put on education of midwives in ancient Egypt and Hradec Králové. The focal of thesis is qualitative exploratory investigation in women who were engaged in obstetrics nursing practically. Changes and improvements in this branch. The surveyed Hample is made up of nursing staff-midwives and nurses working in this profession in the Czech Republic.
