Tématem této diplomové práce je zpravodajské pokrytí jednoho z nejvýznamnějších konfliktů období studené války ze strany tiskového orgánu Komunistické strany Československa a jeho působení na ovlivňování veřejného mínění ve vztahu k oběma znepřáteleným národům Blízkého východu. Pro účely našeho pozorování byly vybrány čtyři významné dějinné události, které jednak tvořily významné milníky v historii státu Izrael a rovněž vytvářely mediální obraz politiky této země. Těmito historickými skutečnostmi jsou: Přepadení izraelské olympijské reprezentace na Olympijských hrách v Mnichově v roce 1972, únos francouzského letadla s izraelskými občany a následná akce podniknutá na jejich osvobození na ugandském letišti Entebbe v roce 1976, izraelská válka v Libanonu proti Sýrii a Organizace pro osvobození Palestiny v roce 1982, začátek první palestinské intifády v roce 1987. Na základě množství původních článků, věnujících se těmto událostem, má práce za cíl demonstrovat vztah československých vládních elit k problematice Blízkého východu a popsat způsob názorového formování československého čtenáře prostřednictvím prominentního tištěného média. Pro zkoumání objektivity zahraničního zpravodajství Rudého práva v případě výše uvedených událostí bude zpravodajství tohoto deníku srovnáváno s významným dobovým denním tiskem... Theme of this graduation thesis is a medial coverage of one of the most important conflicts placed in the Middle East during the cold war from the official newsletter of Czechoslovak communist party and how this news affected public opinion and the relation, Czech people had on the Israeli- Palestinian conflict. For the purpose of the research, were chosen four historical events, which created significant points of the state Israel and his history as well as they affected the medial picture of Israeli government. These historical events are: assault on the Israeli Olympic team in Munich 1972, hijacking of the flight AF 340 with Israeli citizens on board and the rescue action on Entebbe airport in 1976, war in Lebanon against Syria and the PLO, opening of the first Palestinian intifada in 1987. This thesis should demonstrate the relation of the Czechoslovak political elites to a Middle East struggle and to describe how was the Czechoslovak reader manipulated by this prominent journal. For the investigation of the fair mindedness rate, that Rudé právo in foreign press service had, we use a confrontation with some chosen reputable west journals like International Herald Tribune, Frankfurter Allgemeine and Guardian.
