Text se zabývá zlomovým okamžikem v životě jednotlivce - volbou povolání, resp. vyššího stupně školy v rámci žákovy vzdělávací dráhy. Teoreticky rozpracovává problematiku volby střední školy v kontextu vývojové psychologie. Zmiňuje i stručný historický vývoj. Postihuje část požadavků, kladených na výkon kariérního poradenství. V předložené diplomové práci jsou popsány formy a metody pomoci žákům, resp. absolventům ZŠ a jejich rodičům. Autor mapuje a analyzuje současný stav systému kariérního poradenství prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření, strukturovanými rozhovory s kariérními poradci, konzultacemi ve specializovaných poradenských institucích. Na základě provedeného zjištění lze konstatovat, že poradenští pracovníci, kteří využívají prostředky informačních a komunikačních technologií, poskytují flexibilní a kvalitní služby. Ti, kteří je dosud neznají, je akceptují, budou-li vhodně proškoleni a nadále podporováni. The main goal of my diploma thesis is to define some dimensions of career counselling. Primary and secondary source expert literature (aimed at individual psychology, pedagogy and career counselling) is analyzed in the theoretical part and the results of the study are presented in a synthetic form with the expression of my point of view about given thesis. For the research work I have used literature search, analysis, compilation and resumes of specialized literature. In the practical part of the work I have chosen with regard to the professional literature a questionnaire and individual guided interviews with career counselors, that revealed the findings about the respondent's approach to information and communication technologies, and their own professional experience. Consequently I created comparative tables and evaluated all given information. The survey revealed that ICT-oriented counselors who derive benefit from available modern technologies are more flexible than their colleagues. Counselors with a conservative approach are able to accept modern ICT only when they have adequate training and support.
