Od improvizovaných počátků prvního vysílání 1.5. 1953, kdy sídlily všechny redakce v jedné místnosti a kulisy pro vysílání se vyráběly na dvorku Měšťanské besedy se Československá televize postupně stávala silným médiem a také hierarchizovanou instituci, jejíž statut byl v roce 1964 poprvé ukotven zákonem. V práci se budu zabývat postupným budováním systému organizace práce, nastolováním rutin a stereotypů televizní práce a vzrůstem společenské důležitosti média, a to zejména prostřednictvím popisu vývoje každodenních povinností tehdejších zaměstnanců televize. Tématicky se budu zabývat třemi okruhy, které jsou navzájem propojené s institucionalizací Československé televize. After ten years of existence TV organization was still struggeling with the hurried start of broadcasting caused by the Communist govermenťs aspiration to catch up with well-developed western tv organizations (such as French TV or the British BBC) and to get ahead of them.
