V lednovém šetření dotazovalo Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění sadu otázek týkajících se postojů veřejnosti k NATO. Popisované výsledky v této zprávě se pojí s obecnými názory na obranu státu. Dotázaní konkrétně vyjadřovali míru souhlasu s výroky spojenými se suverenitou státu, schopností ovlivnit vlastní obranu a armádou České republiky. In January 2017 Public Opinion Research Centre included a block of questions connected to NATO and defense of Czech Republic in general. Questions focused mainly on position of the Czech Republic between other states, its possibilities of defense against potential threat.
