Abstract: National and cross-national data from EU-SILC surveys are used for various comparisons: of different indicators of poverty; of this data source with administrative data; of the time of remaining in poverty according to various indicators; of the situation in the Czech Republic with EU countries. The advantages of the “subjective” poverty indicator based on reporting on make ends meet are stressed.
