Bakalářská práce se v teoretické části zabývá především pojmy identita, venkov, kultura a endogenní a jiné aspekty lokálního rozvoje. Přiblížena je i demografická struktura obyvatel na Horách Matky Boží. Hory Matky Boží jsou bývalé horní město s bohatou historií a zástavbou z minulého století. Je to část obce Velhartice, která leží nedaleko města Sušice. Empirický výzkum je proveden dotazníkovým šetřením o lokální identitě. Je zjišťován smysl místa, identifikace lidí s místem a spokojenost s žitím v místě. K základním výsledkům patří, že smysl místa i identifikace místních obyvatel s ním jsou spojovány v prvé řadě s přírodním potenciálem místa. Identifikace s místem je v dalším pořadí spojena s neformalizovaným sociálním kapitálem, potom s kulturním kapitálem místa a nakonec s formalizovaným sociálním kapitálem, vyjádřeným občanskou angažovaností. The first part of bachelor thesis covers the theoretical background of local identity. It describes the terms such as identity, countryside, culture and endogenous and other aspects of local development. Theoretical part also covers the demographic structure of Hory Matky Boží. Hory Matky Boží is a part of village Velhartice which is located close to town Sušice. It is a former mining town with a long history as well as with a development from last century. The empirical research consists of questionnaire survey based on a local identity. The research uncovers meaning of location, identification of inhabitants with this location and satisfaction with living in this location. Basic Outcomes of this survey confirm that identification of local people with this location and its meaning for them are mainly based on natural potential of the location itself. Identification with a place is based on connection with social and cultural capital of the location and also on formalized social capital expressed by the civic engagement.
