Abstract: In the present lecture, we attempt for the first time to analyze the AWS effect on normal-stress data for the parallel-plates rotational instrument, using 2D numerical simulations. The related problem for the viscosity data is recalled from the previous reports. For the narrow-gap configurations, h/R <<1, the simple formulas of the one-gradient approximation give an aceptable agreement of the predicted torque M axial thrust F with the correct 2D theory and, hence, they seem to be acceptable in interpreting the primary rheometical data.
