Byla vyšetřována nová mikrovlnná technologie s cílem připravit čedičová vlákna. Laboratorní experimenty prokázaly, že čedič lze snadno a homogenně roztavit použitím mikrovlnné energie. Byly připraveny vlákna o průměru 10-50 mikrometrů. New microwave technology of melting of basalt was examined with the aim to produce fibers. Laboratory experiments showed that basalt can be easily and homogeneously melted by microwave energy. Basalt fibers were produced in 10-50 micrometers of diameter.
