V mém manipulativním experimentu zkoumám efekt herbivorie terestrických plžů a gapů na semenáče rostoucí v lučním společenstvu. Tato studie ukazuje pozitivní efekt jak odstranění herbivorie, tak gapů na uchycení a růst semenáčů. Negativní efekt herbivorie byl více patrný v gapech než v neporušené vegetaci. Citlivost druhů na herbivorii a pozitivní odpověď na gap se lišila druh od druhu. In a manipulative experiment, I examined the effect of terrestrial gastropod herbivory and of gaps in vegetation on seedlings in a meadow community. This study demonstrated positive effect of both, herbivory removal and gaps on the establishment and growth of the seedlings. The negative effect of herbivory was more pronounced in gaps than in intact vegetation. Sensitivity of species to herbivory and positive response to gaps differed among the species.
