V naší práci jsme se zaměřili na sledování výskytu tasemnice Echinococcus multilocularis u šelem severozápadní Šumavy a jejího podhůří, tedy v oblasti která byla v dosavadním šetření opomenuta, ačkoliv právě odtud je znám jediný případ fatálního onemocnění člověka u nás. A still unique human case of alveolar echinoccosis was described from Šumava Mts. region (Klatovy district) in 1979. However, no studies focused to detect the source of infection in this area were performed till present. **arnivores were parasitologicaly examined for the presence of Echinococcus multilocularis cestodes in 39 hunting grounds of southern part of Klatovy district and National park Šumava.
