Abstract: This Diploma Thesis analyzes the Brownfield issue in the Czech Republic. Relevant strategic documents are presented and constitute a framework for the Thesis study of regional development and funding concerning Brownfields. In addition, evolution of past and current approaches taken to deal with the Brownfield issue across regions of the Czech Republic has been studied. Consequently, a complex, holistic approach to Brownfield regeneration is described as a result of integration of current best practice, lessons learnt, optimal combination of Structural funding with Public Private Partnerships, risk management and other key success factors including references to examples from relevant Brownfield regeneration projects.
