Autor kriticky analyzuje různé argumenty ve prospěch centrálního postavení pojmu pravdy a pravdivostních podmínek v teorii významu: dospívá k závěru, že pravdivostní podmínky nejsou o nic fundamentálnější než jiné typy "podmínek naplnění" ("satisfaction conditions"). The author critically analyzes various arguments in favour of the central role of the notion of truth and truth-conditions in the theory of meaning: his conclusion is that truth-conditions are in no respect more fundamental than other types of satisfaction conditions.
