Text se zaměřuje na problémy menšinových organizací v Praze v situaci, kdy se Praha stává otevřeným globálním městem, gateway city, které se složením obyvatelstva a sociabilitou významně odlišuje od ostatních sídel České republiky. Na statistických datech je v textu demonstrována diverzita pražského obyvatelstva, která spolu s předimenzovaností turistického ruchu vytváří z Prahy prostředí extrémně náročné pro soužití obyvatel ve městě. Vysoce diverzifikovaná společnost je spolu s anonymitu a segmentarizací osobních životů jednotlivců pro velkoměsto typická. V tomto specifickém prostředí hledají spolky národnostních menšin svoji působnost a snaží se oslovit svoje krajany, kteří jsou rozptýleni po celém městě. Velkou změnou pro život menšin v České republice je decentralizace menšinových organizací. Jednotlivé menšinové spolky jsou nyní často samostatnými subjekty, které si vytvářejí vlastní program i samostatně hospodaří. Jejich svoboda je vykoupena organizační nezralostí. Musí soupeřit o granty, potýkají se s problémy se spolufinancováním, nemají prostředky na infrastrukturu a administrativní činnosti. Jak ověřily výzkumy Etnologického ústavu ČR, chybí jim poradenská a koordinační asistence, která by napomáhala k získání evropských prostředků, vzájemné komunikaci a mimo jiné i k tomu, aby jejich činnost mohla Pražany efektivně obohacovat jako celek. V této souvislosti oceňují zřízení Domu národnostních menšit, který alespoň částečně zjednodušuje komunikaci mezi menšinami. The text focuses on the problems of minority organizations in Prague in a situation where Prague has become an open global city, a gateway city, which in the composition of the population and sociability differs significantly from other cities of the Czech Republic. Using the statistical data, the diversity of the population in Prague demonstrated in the text, which along with the excessiveness of tourism makes Prague an extremely challenging environment for the coexistence of the population in the city. A highly diversified society along with the anonymity and segmentarization of the personal lives of individuals is typical for the large city. In this particular environment, associations of national minorities seek their activity and hope to address their compatriots, who are scattered throughout the city. A big change for the life of minorities in the Czech Republic is the decentralization of minority organizations. Individual minority clubs are now often separate entities that establish their own program and are separately managed. Their freedom is compensated by organizational immaturity. They must compete for grants, face problems with co-financing and lack the resources for infrastructure and administrative activities. As research by the Institute of Ethnology of the CR has verified, they lack advisory and coordination assistance, which would aid in the acquisition of European funds, mutual communication and among others ensure that their activities could effectively enrich the people of Prague as a whole. In this context, I appreciate the establishment of the House of National Minorities, which at least partially simplifies communication among the minorities.
