Abstract: There is no need to explain the origin of the (Old)-Czech verb „topořiti“ ,become stiff, erect´ and its linguistic family as a result of the process of tabooing; on the contrary, the name of the plant with aphrodisiac effects „tořič“ has a taboo origin.
