Diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou vývoja regulácie a dohľadu finančných systémov USA a EÚ. Primárny dôraz je kladený na inštitucionálne usporiadanie regulácie a dohľadu, oblasť kapitálovej primeranosti a zmeny v týchto oblastiach v reakcii na globálnu finančnú krízu. Práca je koncipovaná do troch kapitol, ktoré na seba logicky a chronologicky nadväzujú a sú nevyhnutné k splneniu cieľa práce. Prvá kapitola pokrýva časové obdobie pred finančnou krízou. V rámci tejto kapitoly je predstavený americký a európsky systém regulácie a dohľadu v období pred krízou, a taktiež Basel I a Basel II a reakcia USA a EÚ na tieto dohody. Druhá kapitola sa zameriava na obdobie finančnej krízy. Kapitola rozoberá príčiny, ktoré túto krízu spôsobili, a jej samotný priebeh. V ďalšej časti druhej kapitoly je priblížená reakcia USA a EÚ na krízu a kroky, ktoré podnikli v snahe zachrániť svoje finančné systémy. Posledná kapitola zastrešuje pokrízové obdobie. Táto kapitola je venovaná predovšetkým novej koncepcii Basel III a jej implementácii v USA a EÚ. Záver práce bude venovaný celkovému zhrnutiu a porovnaniu získaných poznatkov. Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou vývoje regulace a dohledu finančních systémů USA a EU. Primární důraz je kladen na institucionální uspořádání regulace dohledu, oblast kapitálové přiměřenosti a změny v těchto oblastech v reakci na globální finanční krizi. Práce je koncipována do tří kapitol, které na sebe logicky a chronologicky navazují a jsou nezbytné ke splnění cíle práce. První kapitola pokrývá časové období před finanční krizí. V rámci této kapitoly je představen americký a evropský systém regulace a dohledu v období před krizí, a taktéž Basel I a Basel II a reakce USA a EU na tyto dohody. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na období finanční krize. Kapitola rozebírá příčiny, které tuto krizi způsobily, a její samotný průběh. V další části druhé kapitoly je přiblížena reakce USA a EU na krizi a kroky, které podnikly ve snaze zachránit své finanční systémy. Poslední kapitola zastřešuje pokrizové období. Tato kapitola je věnována především nové koncepci Basel III a její implementaci v USA a EU. Závěr práce bude věnován celkovému shrnutí a srovnání získaných poznatků The master thesis deals with the issue of the development of regulation and supervision of the financial systems in the US and the EU. The thesis is primarily focused on the regulatory and supervisory bodies and the area of capital adequacy in both, the US and the EU and changes in these areas in response to the global financial crisis. In order to meet the theses objectives the thesis is divided into three chapters, which are logically and chronologically connected. The first chapter covers the period before the financial crisis. This chapter analyzes American and European system of regulation and supervision in the period before the crisis, as well as Basel I and Basel II and the reaction of the US and the EU on these agreements. The second chapter focuses on the period of the financial crisis. Chapter analyzes the causes that led to this crisis and also its actual progress. Next section of the second chapter analyzes the US and the EU response to the crisis and the steps which the US and the EU have taken in an effort to save their financial systems. The last chapter covers the post-crisis period. This chapter is devoted mainly to the new concept Basel III and its implementation in the US and the EU. The conclusion of the thesis will be devoted to an overall summary and to comparison of obtained information.
