Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na ekonomické aspekty konce režimu apartheidu v Jihoafrické republice (JAR). Zaměřuje se na ekonomický vývoj v letech 1966-1978. Tehdy došlo k významnému obratu v hospodářskopolitickém vývoji země a plně se projevily ekonomické problémy související se stávajícím režimem. Práce analyzuje jaké ekonomické a hospodářskopolitické příčiny vedly ke zhoršení ekonomického vývoje země a nutnosti reformovat režim apartheidu v roce 1978. Práce dokazuje, že ekonomické příčiny pádu apartheidu se projevily již v tomto období. Nejzásadnější příčinu tohoto pádu nalézám v nesouladu na straně nabídky práce a poptávky po práci, což v konečném důsledku zpomalovalo ekonomický růst. Součástí práce je zkoumání vlivu rasově segregačních politických opatření na tehdejší ekonomický vývoj v JAR. Tato opatření znemožňovala trhu přizpůsobovat se změnám v nabídce práce i změnám ve struktuře ekonomiky. K pádu apartheidu přispěly i administrativní, policejní a obranné náklady a náklady související s mezinárodní izolací JAR. Jejich příspěvek však není tak zásadní jako u ostatních příčin. Bachelor thesis focuses on economic aspects of the end of apartheid regime in South Africa. It focuses on economic development during 1966-1978. There was a significant reversal in country's economic policy in this period of time and the economic problems connected with the regime had fully reflected. The thesis analyses the economic policy and economic causes which led to aggravation of country's economic development and to the need to reform the regime of apartheid in 1978. The thesis proves that the economical causes of the fall of apartheid had already reflected in this period. I have determined that the discrepancy of labour supply and labour demand is the most significant cause of the fall, which had ultimately resulted in slowed economic growth. Part of the thesis is the examination of influence of racial segregation policies on economic development in South Africa. These policies made it impossible for the market to adapt to changes in labour supply and to changes in the economic structure. Administrative, police and defense costs and the costs of the international isolation of the South Africa had also contributed to the fall of apartheid. Their contribution, however, is not as crucial as other causes.
