Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou minimální mzdy v České republice a v Evropské unii. V teoretické části je popsána funkce a vývoj minimální mzdy, teoretické přístupy k minimální mzdě a na základě studií shrnuty argumenty pro a proti minimální mzdě. V praktické části je podroben analýze vývoj minimální mzdy na území České republiky od roku 1991 do současnosti. Poté je porovnána výše minimální mzdy v zemích EU. Posledním předmětem analýzy je vliv minimální mzdy na nezaměstnanost v České republice a chudobu v EU provedený za pomocí korelační analýzy. Bylo zjištěno, že v letech, kdy minimální mzda rostla rychleji než průměrná mzda, byla v České republice vyšší míra nezaměstnanosti a že ve státech s vyšší minimální mzdou pracuje měně lidí ohrožených chudobou. The Master's thesis deals with analysis of the minimum wage in the Czech Republic and European Union. The first three chapters describe the function and development of the minimum wage, as well as the theoretical approaches of the minimum wage. Furthermore the arguments for and against the minimum wage are summarized. In the practical part the development of the minimum wage in the Czech Republic from 1991 is analyzed and the minimum wage across the EU countries is compared. The last analysis follows minimum wage based on further criteria: unemployment rate and poverty. The results show that during the years, in which the minimum wage increases more than average wage, the unemployment rate in Czech Republic is higher. Moreover, the countries with higher minimum wage have lower in-work-poverty rate.
