Práce tak představuje příspěvek k diskusi o roli OSN v současném světě, k analýze podmínek a předpokladů její akceschopnosti, efektivnosti a potenciálních změn v její struktuře a fungování.The thesis deals with conflict between Tutsis and Hutus, which took place in the 90s in Rwanda, its historical causes, the process and the role of the international community in its solution. The thesis is focused particularly on the role of the UN in resolving the conflict -- on the analysis of the effect of the UN peacekeeping mission, the conditions of its deployment, the definition of its mandate and other factors that led to its failure. The work represents a contribution to the debate about the role of the UN in today's world, the analysis of the conditions and preconditions of its agility, the efficiency and potential changes in its structure and functioning.
