The aim of this thesis is to outline the expectations of students and graduates from their future employer. The theoretical part focuses on explaining the aspects that affect characteristics of students and graduates as future employees. The theoretical part also concentrates on issues of unemployment and on the other hand it deals with supportive programs for student's employment. Other discussed issue is the Generation Y, and its nomenclature, time definition as well as its forming aspects and its characteristics at work place. The practical part is focused on comparing the theoretical assumptions with the results of the survey, answered by 319 respondents. The quantitative method was used in the survey through half-structured online questionnaire. Results outlined the expectations of students and graduates about starting salary and employee benefits, as well as the priorities when choosing a job and preferred work environment.
