Abstract: This thesis analyzes the supply and value added chains beween Germany and the Czech Republic. Further, the effects of foreign direct investment on the respective economies are discussed. The thesis also investigates the impact of FDI on the automotive industry and the companies within. To illustrate the topic, the case study of the acquisition of Škoda by the Volkswagen Group is presented.
