Cílem mé práce bylo konsolidovat prameny práva, na jejichž základě byla instituce Evropského veřejného ochránce práv ustanovena, stejně jako vypracovat analýzu jejích činností. V praktické části práce jsem se zaměřila na analýzu vybraných případů, které Evropský veřejný ochránce práv prošetřoval v posledních pěti letech. U těchto případů jsem analyzovala zejména postupy, pomocí kterých Evropský veřejný ochránce práv případy řesil a také právní zdroje, na nichž založil svá rozhodnutí. The aim of the thesis was to disclose and assume the legal bases of the European ombudsman institution as well as to work out an analysis of its activities. In the practical part of the thesis I focused on a deep analysis of chosen cases that the European ombudsman solved and closed in the last five years. As regards the cases I analysed in particular the procedures the European ombudsman followed in order to come to a resolution, consequently I analysed the legal sources it based its final decisions on.
